Swashbuckling cricketer Hardik Pandya has caught the imagination of the entire country with his brilliant performance against Sri Lanka in the recently-concluded Test series.

The Baroda lad's brutal century in the third Test in Pallekele guided Team India to a series whitewash and earned him his first Man of the Match trophy. His exploits have given hope that the Indian cricket team has finally found another genuine fast-bowling all-rounder after the likes of Irfan Pathan and the legendary Kapil Dev.

While fans have only gotten to see the Hardik's aggressive game on the field, not many are aware of what he is like as a person in real life. The 23-year-old gave a glimpse of his emotional side by posting a heartwarming video on social media on Wednesday.

Hardik took to Twitter to post a series of tweets in which he credited his father for whatever he has achieved in his life. He also posted a video in which his father was being a gifted a car. Although he wasn't around himself when his father got the surprise - since he is touring with the Indian team in Sri Lanka - he made sure he was there on a video call to witness the delight on his father's face.

"So glad to see his face lit up like that. This is the guy who should get all the happiness in life and deserves all the credit - my dad," wrote Hardik. "He was the one who left everything he had for me and @krunalpandya_official, which takes a lot of courage to do. Only for our careers and I can't thank him enough for all he has done. So that's a small surprise for him which made me cry. Family is life and special mention to my brother @vibsnasir for getting this done when I was not around. Love to all."
