State Bank of India rejigs senior management

Ashwani Bhatia, current MD and chief executive officer, SBI funds management has been elevated as deputy managing director

State Bank of India has revamped its top executives by promoting its senior officers to replace the officers who have retired. The bank will have eight new deputy managing directors and 22 new chief general managers (CGMs). Ashwani Bhatia, current MD and chief executive officer, SBI funds management has been elevated as deputy managing director.

He will continue to drive the mutual fund business of the bank even after the elevation.

Keshav Kumar Thekepat has taken over as DMD in charge of commercial clients group at the corporate centre of the bank at Nariman Point. He was the chief general manager in charge of stressed assets. Alok Kumar Choudhury will take over as DMD in charge of human resources. He was heading the Delhi circle for the bank. Hare Krishna Jena, who was CGM global markets, will take over as DMD in charge of global markets. 

Sandeep Tiwari, CGM Patna circle, will take over as DMD internal audit department at the corporate centre of the bank at Hyderabad. Soma Sankara Prasad, country head of the bank's Singapore operations, will take over as DMD in charge compliance at the corporate centre at Mumbai. The CGM of the Hyderabad circle Swaminathan Janakiraman will take over as DMD strategy and chief digital officer at the corporate centre. Sanjiv Chadha, managing director and chief executive officer of SBI capital markets, will continue to hold the same position as the new deputy managing director. 

The new CGMs of the bank are Vijuy Ronjan, CGM of the Delhi circle, OM Prakash Mishra will be the CGM of the Hyderabad circle. Ravindra Pandey will CGM of the Jaipur circle. Ravindranath Gandrakota will be the CGM of the Maharashtra circle, Deepak Kumar Lalla will be CGM for the Mumbai Metro circle, Mahesh Deepchand Goel, CGM of the Patna circle, Mrigendra Lal Das will be the new CGM of the Thiruvananthapuram circle. Two women officers of the bank have also been elevated. Shabnam Narayan will take over as CGM stressed assets, and Vasudha Bhat Kumar will take over as CGM transaction banking unit at the corporate centre in Mumbai.
