Earlier, a PIL was filed seeking a stay on the release of the film with the opposition parties claiming that it was a propaganda film and it's initial release (April 5) was planned with the motive of influencing voters in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. However, later CBFC Chief Prasoon Joshi confirmed that the movie had not been certified yet.

"Since there are a lot of queries around the certification of the film, would like to give a clear picture. The film is going through the due process of examination and certification according to the requisite guidelines and is yet to be certified as the process is not complete at this point," Prasoon Joshi said in a statement.
