The Festival Of India and Parade, held by the Federation of Indo-Americans in North California, has been a global calendar event for years now. In the past, they have had Hindi cinema icons like Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Vinod Khanna and Asha Parekh, and stars like Tabu, Urmila Matondkar and Sushmita Sen as the Grand Marshal. This time around, Golmaal Again actor, Tusshar, has been invited to be the Grand Marshal for the parade on August 19.

Interestingly, 27 years ago, Jeetendra had participated in the India Day Parade at New York, and a teenaged Tusshar had accompanied his father.

The 41-year-old will also be honoured by local Senators, Congressmen, Mayors and other dignitaries.

Moreover, the Federation will host their 5th FOG (Festival Of Globe) Film Festival from August 15 to 17 followed by a Summit on August 18 that ties technology, investment, entertainment and healthcare, with ‘Save The Planet’ as this year’s theme.

Tusshar has a packed schedule right through his five-day visit to the US. The actor has been invited to participate in Facebook and Google sessions on August 17. He will visit their respective headquarters and talk about the future of media and entertainment. Tusshar says, “It’s an honour to be invited to be the Grand Marshal. I’m excited about celebrating our Independence Day with Indians abroad. I hope to get more such opportunities to celebrate with them in the future, too.”
