SCOOP: Amitabh Bachchan, Sushant Singh Rajput, Kartik Aaryan in Aankhen 2?

The legal wrangle over Aankhen 2 ended in 2017. Now, after more than a year, it seems the sequel to the 2002 film starring Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Arjun Rampal, Paresh Rawal and Sushmita Sen is back on track. However, this time around, it will be produced by RajTaru Studios, who won the court battle against Gaurang Doshi, the producer of the original heist film.

An industry insider tells us that Big B leads the cast in the sequel too. The producers are in the process of finalising the other actors. “Talks with Sushant Singh Rajput and Kartik Aaryan are in the final stages. The rest of the names will be in place soon as well,” says our source, adding that Bachchan’s character drives the sequel, so there’s no way he won’t be a part of it.

Interestingly, when Gaurang launched the sequel in August 2016, Bachchan led the cast comprising Anil Kapoor, Arjun, Arshad Warsi and south actress Regina Cassandra. 

However, the movie got embroiled in a legal battle, which ended last March when the High Court reportedly rapped the producer for not following its order. He was also directed to issue notices that neither he nor any of his companies had any right to make the movie’s sequel. We tried contacting RajTaru Studios, but the producers remained unavailable for comment till the time of going to press.
