Not Deepika-Ranveer or Nick-Priyanka's wedding, but THIS was the most searched wedding of the year 2018

2018 seemed to be the year of the wedding season and so the search engines for the same was the highest!

The first marriage to make news even before the year started was Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s #VirushkaWedding.

This began a storm in Bollywood when most eligible bachelors tied the knot one after another. Sonam Kapoor got married to her long-time boyfriend Anand Ahuja. Sonam then changed her name to Sonam K Ahuja and Anand made it Anand S Ahuja, S denoting Sonam. Amidst this, news of Surveen Chawla also getting married came out.

It was only towards the end of this year that two leading actresses – Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone both got married to Nick Jonas and Ranveer Singh respectively. While Deepika and Ranveer were a couple for 6 years, Priyanka and Nick, according to news reports, dated only for a year before taking the plunge. Their search trends were with #DeepVeerWedding and #NickyankaWedding.

If that too wasn’t enough, Isha Ambani’s high-profile wedding left our phones buzzing and all top Bollywood stars shook a leg at the wedding.

Despite all of these weddings, it was a completely different wedding which was the most searched in 2018. This wedding was Sonam Kapoor-Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer ‘Veere Di Wedding’.

‘Veere Di Wedding’ was in news for Swara Bhasker’s masturbation scene which became a controversial topic and earned many praises as much as wrath from people. No matter either, the movie was in news the most because that scene raised the matter if masturbation is a topic that can be discussed in the open.
