While Rajkumar Hirani's biopic on Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt - 'Sanju' - continues its dream run at the box-office, director-producer Ram Gopal Varma has reportedly begun working on another biopic on the actor. It has been tentatively titled, ‘Sanju: The Real Story’.

When contacted by Mumbai Mirror, Varma confirmed the news on Thursday evening by saying, “Yes, I am making the film.” If sources her to believed then RGV's version will only focus on Dutt's arrest in connection with the 1993 blasts and for possessing an AK-56 rifle.

Varma apparently loved Hirani's 'Sanju' for its emotional intensity but was left disappointed with the leniancy with which the director dealt with Sanjay Dutt's arrest. RGV feels the film dwelled more on his drug phase, which is already well documented, and didn't provide any information on the legal controversy, that people were most interested in.

“That Dutt was doing drugs, was traumatised by his mother’s battle with cancer [she died just three days before the release of his first film Rocky], had multiple flings, many of them onenight stands, is all well documented,” Mumbai Mirror qouted a source saying.

“Ramu has been meeting Sanjay’s associates and cops involved with the investigation as part of his research,” the source further added. When asked who would play 'Sanju' in his film, Varma said, “Details later.”
