Batla House, starring John Abraham and Mrunal Thakur in lead roles, released alongside Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari and Sharman Joshi's film Mission Mangal

The new releases from Independence Day - Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari and Sharman Joshi starrer Mission Mangal, and John Abraham-Mrunal Thakur starrer Batla House - have been performing well at the Box Office. Although Batla House is not performing as brilliantly as Mission Mangal, the movie has also managed to become a hit.
On its second Friday both the movies got a major boost owing to the occasion of Janmashtami. Akshay Kumar-Vidya Balan's Mission Mangal went on to cross the superhit benchmark, while John Abaraham's Batla House also inches closer to Rs. 70 crore mark by second Friday.
Both the movies have gone on to perform better than all other releases, including Angry Birds 2. According to a report on Box Office India, while Mission Mangal was expected to collect between the rang of Rs. 7.25-7.50 crore (it minted 7.83 crore), Batla House is expected to mint around Rs. 3.75-4 crore.

Batla House, directed by Nikkhil Advani, is based on the real life encounter case which took place in Delhi's Batla House on September 19, 2008. The movie also features Dilbar famed Nora Fatehi in a cameo appearance, including O Saki Saki recreation.
