Ajay Devgn's Golmaal Again, Varun Dhawan's Judwaa 2 top the TRP game!

Last year, comedies did great numbers at the box office. Varun Dhawan’s Judwaa 2 and Ajay Devgn’s Golmaal Again might not have been lauded by critics, but they wowed audiences who flocked to the theatres to watch them. While the national box office numbers are proof enough (Judwaa 2 earned about Rs 132.39 crore and Golmaal Again ended its lifetime run at about Rs 205.50 crore), both these entertainers worked the best on satellite as well.

Reportedly, Ajay and Varun’s films have topped the TRP charts last year. Golmaal Again received around 5.93 crore viewers from seven screenings on satellite whereas Judwaa 2 was a close second with 5.70 crore viewers from nine screenings. This is also said to reinstate the fact that despite several unconventional films clicking at the BO, it’s still the commercial masala fare that works with the family audiences.
