“On Wednesday night at around 7.30 pm, while returning from my office, I asked my driver Dorai to stop opposite Nilgiris, on Brigade Road. As the traffic was heavy and there was no parking space, I asked him to wait in the car, while I went into the shop. But as soon as I went inside the store, some passer-by told my driver, that I had dropped a Rs100 note and left. My driver got down to check what had happened, and returned to his seat after he did not find the money. But  by then, some miscreants had opened the back door of the car and took away the bag containing my laptop,” Arta claimed.

Dorai did not know that the bag with the laptop had been stolen. Arta, who later returned, told Dorai that he didn’t lose any money, and found that the bag missing.

An associate of Arta said: “It was very difficult for us to register the police complaint and we were made to run from pillar to post. When we went with the documents, the police made us run around.” The Ashoknagar police have registered a case and are investigating.
