A 38-year-old techie, disturbed as he could not finish his project work, committed suicide in HSR Layout police station limits late on Saturday.

A death note left by the deceased said he took the extreme step after failing to complete his project being pending for two months. The techie, identified as Prabhakar, a resident of Pushpavathi Layout in Kaikondanahalli, first cut his wrist and then jumped into Chavalu Lake situated behind his rented house.

The police said Prabhakar, a bachelor, was a native of Tamil Nadu and was working as a technical architect with Appnomic Systems Pvt Ltd in HAL Industrial area on Old Airport Road.
Prabhakar, after having dinner with his friend and neighbour Suresh Kumar, left to his house around 10.30 pm. Around 12 midnight, he came out of the house and went behind his rented house. The security guard of the locality, who had spotted Prabhakar, thought he might be going to keep a watch on his under-construction house situated in the area.

Hanurappa, the guard, got worried as Prabhakar did not return till 1 am. After failing to trace Prabhakar, Hanurappa informed Kumar. Both searched for Prabhakar, but in vain. The duo then went to Prabhakar’s house where they found blood stains.

The HSR Layout police was informed after which a search operation went on out till 5 am without any result. Sub-inspector Nanjegowda and others examined Prabhakar’s house.

The public later found a body in Chavalu Lake which was later identified to be that of Prabhakar’s.

The police have informed Prabhakar’s parents. The body has been kept in Victoria Hospital. An autopsy will be held after the parents of Prabhakar reach the city, the police said.
