The three-day Akhila Bharat Prathinidhi Sabha (ABPS) meeting of the apex governing body of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) concluded on Sunday with a statement that the misdeeds of BJP will not be overlooked, even though few of its members believe in RSS ideologies.

“BJP is not the political wing of RSS. We do not condone the wrongdoings of BJP, just because some leaders in the party share the RSS ideology,” Suresh Joshi, general secretary, RSS.

When asked why RSS had not cracked the whip against the corrupt politicians in the BJP, particularly in Karnataka, who swear by the pro-nationalist principles of the RSS, Joshi said, “We are waiting for the court to give its verdict in many cases of corruption and scams. Our principles also say that we should not circumvent the procedure of law. Moreover, RSS is not recruiting or training swayamsevaks to become politicians and hold seats of power. Those swayamsevaks who do become politicians by design or providence will only put themselves to test the principles they learnt in the RSS. It is their game, not that of the RSS.”

“We do agree that the BJP leadership has not acted in a just manner. We are watching and waiting. We are hopeful that when the time is right the principles we have shared with some leaders of BJP will be put to work in fighting corruption,” he ascertained.
“We are afraid that the culture of corruption is being infused into the general population, through education, through politics and through administration. Our swayamsevaks have already begun a campaign against corruption through mass contact programmes, the effects of which will soon be seen,” he said.

On the issue of Hindu terrorism, Joshi said, “If a Hindu becomes a terrorist, who will be safe in this country?  It was a political conspiracy by parties to gain more votes. They haven’t realised that they have insulted the majority of the Hindu population with their mindless allegations,” he said.
