The BMTF arrested Gandhinagar sub-division executive engineer Idaya Vendon in connection with the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) multi-crore fake bill scam.

The Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force (BMTF) arrested Gandhinagar sub-division executive engineer Idaya Vendon in connection with the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) multi-crore fake bill scam on Thursday night.
On Friday, he was produced before the ACMM court, which remanded him in judicial custody. As the BMTF do not have the resource, Vendon has been kept in Halasuru Gate police station.
Stating that revealing information will affect the case, BMTF inspector general of police RP Sharma said that the investigation is at a crucial stage.
According to sources, Vendon was interrogated by BMTF superintendent of police Mallikarjunaswamy and other officials on Friday.
“During interrogation, Vendon revealed names of 11 officers,
who are involved in the scam,” said a source.
Meanwhile, BBMP commissioner Siddaiah met the chief minister on Friday to brief him on the progress made in investigation into the bogus bill scam.
Siddaiah has also instructed the BMTF to submit 133 files pertaining to the scam.
