Home minister R Ashoka slammed the UPA government for not providing a National Security Guards (NSG) unit for Bangalore which has developed into a global city. Speaking to reporters on Wednesday he stated that the union government promised to station an NSG unit in Bangalore after the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai by terrorists. However, it has not been fulfilled yet, he added.
Bangalore is an international IT hub and pays more taxes to the Indian government compared to most other major cities of the country. When compared to neighbouring states, the funds given by Congress led UPA government to Karnataka is nothing, he alleged.
At least now the center should wake up as Bangalore was targeted for the second time by the terrorists referring to the case of bomb blast near BJP party office in Malleshwaram, he demanded. He explained that his vision for Bangalore’s security includes installing CCTVs at every possible point to monitor the law and order system in the city.
