IIM-Bangalore joins edX to deliver education across the globe

Indian Institute of Management Bangalore has joined edX, a Cambridge and Massachusetts-based non-profit enterprise as a contributing member to deliver education via Massive Open Online Courseware(MOOCs) to larger population of learners across the world.

Dr Sunil Vachani, director, IIMB said, "We are gearing up to create the capability to teach differently and edX is a great platform to extend IIMB's educational impact across the globe. This is a tremendous opportunity at IIMB. In addition to delivering top quality management on campus and to small classes of students chosen from highly competitive admission process, we will also use technology to provide selected management courses to a much larger population in India."

The Director reiterated that the IIMB will will embrace and leverage technologies for social impact adding, "we recognise that the the way in which education will be delivered will be radically different in future. People who could not afford world class education will now have access to it."

Anant Agarwal, CEO, edX, also said that IIMB will deliver high quality courses and perspectives to the edX learning community and reach learners across the globe.
