If the electorate votes the BJP to power again, the party will give free laptops or tablets to PUC and graduate students, besides providing free Wi-Fi at all the schools and colleges. The saffron party has promised this, and more, in its manifesto, which was released on Friday.

To reduce congestion in Bangalore, the new BJP government—if it comes into being—will set up four satellite towns around Bangalore. Also, those who recycle water will get a discount on their water bill. Not just that, the BJP government will introduce a helicopter-ambulance service to ensure that traffic problem does not come in the way of timely medical intervention.

Then, to deal with environment-related challenges facing the city, Bangalore Environment Corporation will be set up. Municipal Solid-Waste Management Authority will be established to look into the issue of dealing with the garbage the city generates. Fifty per cent reservation will be provided to women in local administration bodies. Also, eligible families will get 25 kg rice per month at the rate of Rs 1 a kg.
