The Annual Motif Charity Walk, which has raised Rs 5.77 crore for 47 NGOs in the past 15 years, will be held on Sunday.

"We are humbled by the support from individuals and companies for the annual walk. We have raised Rs 5.77 crore for 47 NGOs with the help of over 64,000 walkers and 250 sponsors, along with Motif's matching contribution, in the past 15 years," Kaushal Mehta, founder & CEO of Motif Inc, said.

The funds raised are donated to NGOs selected in advance. Gujarat Harijan Sevak Sangh, an initiative of Mahatma Gandhi, and established in 1932 to eradicate untouchability and to impart education for uplift of less fortunate children, is among the beneficiary NGOs this year.

Samvedna Trust, which has transformed lives of the under-served and tribal community of the state through education and sustainable development projects, Tara Foundation, which provides treatment to hearing impaired children, and Teach To Lead, which strives to end educational inequality through its Fellowship programme, are the other beneficiary NGOs.

The Walk will begin from LD College of Engineering and will include a 4 km-walk or a 7.5 km-run.

The participants are required to pay a registration fee of Rs 300. Mehta said that his company matches the contribution for every registered participant for up to Rs10 lakh.
