DCB's turn to grill him may take 4 months

Detection of crime branch will soon apply to the National Investigating Agency to acquire custody of Yasin Bhatkal with regard to probing the 2008 Ahmedabad serial blasts and others. “We shall be applying for his custody very soon.

Bhatkal is wanted in around 35 cases in Gujarat, of which 15 are linked to blast attempts in Surat and another 20 cases in Ahmedabad, involving the 2008 serial blasts,” JCP-DCB, AK Sharma said. However, the DCB will have bide its time to get Bhatkal’s custody.

A cop on condition of anonymity told dna that it might take at least four months for DCB to get his custody, as he is already wanted in over 50 other cases across the country including Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Karnataka and Delhi.
