Chief Minister Vijay Rupani launched two boat ambulances from 108 Emergency Management Center in Kathwada on Wednesday. He also launched the 108 Emergency mobile application, which connects 4000 hospitals across the state.

During the launch, the CM said, "Gujarat has taken leadership in many initiatives. Now, we are introducing boat ambulances in the coastal areas to provide proper medical services to people residing nearby. The boat ambulance is going to play a vital role in transporting patients from sea to shore."

From the seashore, the integrated surface ambulance on land will transfer the patient to a nearby hospital. The boats will also have life support equipment like stretchers, suction device, BP monitors, and trained crew members to provide pre-hospital care.

Talking about the health services in the state, Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel, said, "Our government is committed to providing better health services. We decided to give financial assistance to accident victims also. If a person meets with an accident and is admitted to any government or private hospital, the initial expense of Rs 50,000 will be borne by the state government."

Patel further said that the mobile application will reduce the time wasted in the registration process. "The digital platform will reduce the paperwork time and relatives will be able to track the location of the ambulance as well. Besides these, the connected hospital will be allowed to initiate medical action," added Patel.

Giving more details about the functioning of the mobile application, the Deputy Chief Minister said, "The application has five modules. They are connected with Citizens, ERC- Emergency Response Centres, EMT — Emergency Medical Technicians, Pilots, and Hospitals."
