2009 FSL test showed Talwars were innocent

After the evidence collected against the Talwar couple was inconclusive, the Allahabad High Court on Thursday acquitted the duo in the double murder case of their 14-year-old daughter, Aarushi Talwar and domestic help Hemraj which happened in May 2008.

In 2013 Nupur and Rajesh Talwar were sentenced to life imprisonment in Ghaziabad's Dasna Jail for the double murders. In the year 2009, the Gandhinagar FSL team was taken by the Delhi police regarding the case. During investigation, a team was formed by the FSL department of Gandhinagar, headed by SL Vaya, a leading FSL scientific officer, now retired. During investigation, the team had done Polygraph, Narco and Fingerprint tests of the couple. The reports were negative and the agency even claimed in the report that the parents were not lying.

SL Vaya, the retired FSL officer, said, "The parents could have been saved if the reports were considered by the court. The report clearly showed that the parents were not lying during the polygraph, Narco and Fingerprint tests as reports were negative."

The report was submitted to the Delhi police, as per their request of the officers. However, nothing was considered in the court. Amita Shuka, Assistant Director of Psychology department, said, "At that time, one of the Scientific officers investigating the case and in 2009 they had sent reports claiming that the innocence of the parents in the case which was not considered by the court. If they would have considered it the parents would have been saved."

Apart from that we used to make reports and never used to go for the follow of it and never used to ask them what they have done.
