Students threaten protest against mess contractor

Three days after a student from the Sant Eknath Boys Hostel in Chembur found a dead lizard in the food, there seems to be no action on the contractor. Students on Wednesday said that they would have a protest if action is not initiated against the mess contractor Suresh Salve and his agency Yash Bahuuddeshiya Sahakari Sanstha.

On Sunday Rahul Jambhulkar, a student noticed that there was a dead lizard in the gravy that he was about to pour in the plate. Students from the Prahar Vidyarthi Sena then registered a complaint with the Maharashtra State Social Welfare and Justice Department. Avinash Devsatvar, assistant commissioner, Social Welfare and Justice Department, Mumbai suburbs had then said that the contractors services would be terminated.

Three days after the incident however, there seems to be no action.
