Senior citizen murder case solved in two days by MRA Marg police

Those arrested have been identified as Dorje Tenzing Lama (31), Utkarsh alias Krushna Mahendra Soni (19), Angel Daniel Bhise (21), Jayesh Kanojia (22) and Anand Dilip Rai (29).

The MRA Marg police solved a case of murder of a senior citizen within 48 hours. Probe revealed that a conspiracy was hatched by none other the grandson of the deceased to usurp his property. The police have arrested five persons, including the grandson in the case.

Those arrested have been identified as Dorje Tenzing Lama (31), Utkarsh alias Krushna Mahendra Soni (19), Angel Daniel Bhise (21), Jayesh Kanojia (22) and Anand Dilip Rai (29).

According to DCP, Zone I, Abhishek Trimukhe, on Tuesday morning, the body of Aja Tejling Lama, 87, was found in a room at Sant Niwas Building at SBS Road in Fort. Lama was attacked with a sharp weapon.

Lama, who originally hailed from Darjeeling in West Bengal, was a Mumbai resident for more than three decades and was staying at the said building for a while. Lama was staying all alone in his flat and had a few relatives in Dombivali.

“After Lama’s daughter-in-law and other relatives were probed, the needle of suspicion pointed towards the grandson Dorje. On sustained questioning, Dorje confessed to hatching a murder conspiracy with his friends. Dorje was eyeing Lama’s property and a few small businesses that he owned,” said a police officer.
