After Dhanush's statement on an actor' remuneration, producers AL Azhagappan and K Rajan slammed the actor.
Actor-filmmaker Dhanush is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming film, Asuran. His last outing was The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir and is on a promotional spree for his latest outing. For Asuran, the talented actor has teamed up with Vetri Maaran. The movie is set to hit the screens on October 4, 2019, and recently Dhanush was snapped at a press conference held for the film. During the meet, the actor spoke at length about the film and several other topics as well.
Dhanush was seen speaking about actors getting remuneration on time and his statement received mixed reaction from the Tamil film industry. As per India Today, the Maari actor said, "Getting full remuneration has become a rarity these days. But in Asuran, Thanu sir settled my salary before the shoot. It was very helpful to me." After hearing this, producer Kalaipuli S Thanu supported Dhanush and revealed that he has sacrificed crores of money for his films.
However, producer AL Azhagappan bashed the actor. He said, "Actors like Vijay and Ajith are helping producers. But those who had invested in films featuring Dhanush have failed in the business. They are not in the field anymore."
While another producer K Rajan said, "Most of the producers who worked with Dhanush have incurred huge losses. Producers make films only by getting loans from private money lenders. Because of the mistakes committed by actors and directors, they are facing a massive loss. Films which are made at a budget of Rs 10 crore have a market only for Rs 8 crore. Actors like Dhanush have swanky new cars, but producers are on the streets now. Some of the actors think that producers are earning profits, which is not the truth. So actors should stop blaming the producers."
