A statement by the Islamic State released claiming responsibility for Friday night's Paris attacks has been doing rounds on the social media. The statement was published in Arabic, English and French on IS' account on Telegram, a messaging platform.

In the letter, "the ISIS says that a group of believers from the soldiers of the Caliphate set out targeting the capital of prostitution and vice, the lead carrier of the cross in Europe-Paris. "

It further says that "Allah granted victory upon their hands and cast terror into the hearts of the crusaders in their very own homeland."

The statement also says that the location for these attacks were carefully chosen in the centre of the capital of France. The soccer match between two "crusader nations" (Germany and France) was attended by the "imbecile of France, Francois Hollande".

It further states that the "brothers" detonated their explosive belts in the masses of the disbelievers after finishing all their ammunition. "We ask Allah to accept them amongst the martyrs and to allow us to follow them," it said.

The statement then goes on to say that the "scent of death will not leave their nostrils as long as they partake in the crusader campaign..."

The statement ends with a warning that says that "this is just the beginning."
