New 'Malala school' set to conduct classes from December in Pakistan

The construction of Malala Yousufzai Danish School (MYDS) in Jand, a town in Pakistan's Attock District, is nearing completion and classes are expected to commence by December this year

According to sources, the school, which is being built on a plot of 200 acres, would have two different campuses for girls and boys where initially 220 students would be admitted to sixth grade, reports The Express Tribune.

Underprivileged students will be given preference for admission. These students will be provided all facilities free of cost, including tuition, boarding, books and uniforms, the sources said.

A 10% quota for admission has been reserved for students aiming to cover the tuition fees themselves

The MYDS project was launched by Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif amongst many reservations about its future from the locals, who demanded that government schools should also be fully facilitated.
