After teasing for so long and surviving the Kevin Spacey sexual harassment storm, the first look, a teaser and release date for the sixth and final season of House of Cards is finally here.

Netflix unveiled at a 20-seconds-long date announced video on Tuesday. In the teaser, we can see Claire Underwood, played by Robin Wright, staring at the camera, sitting on a chair many of you will find similar to the one at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC. She is wearing a smart indigo dress and sporting a side bob. Claire drums her fingers as that oh-so-familiar and intense bugle tune plays in the background. Later, the screen goes black and we see #MYTURN appear. One cannot help but notice the lack of Kevin Spacey's shrewd Frank Underwood is no longer taking the centre stage.

But things will get bloodier if we are to pay attention to the key art released announcing that the final season will return on November 2.

It features the same Claire, but this time, instead of drumming, her fingers are bloodied and sunken deep into the handrest.

We know from the previous seasons that Claire has blood on her. But this time when it is strikingly visible, can we speculate if it's of Frank Underwood? We know Kevin Spacey has been written out of the show. Did his Frank Underwood get what karma had in store for him?

Earlier, at a Television Critics Association event, Netflix's vice president of original series, Cindy Holland, promised a fitting end to one of their marquee shows. It was House of Cards that changed the TV viewing habits and brought in the era of 'binge-watching'.

The final season of House of Cards will introduce two new characters played by Diane Lane and Greg Kinnear. Michael Kelly, Jayne Atkinson, Patricia Clarkson, Constance Zimmer, Derek Cecil, Campbell Scott and Boris McGiver are returning to play their respective characters.

This season is shorter than previous instalments. We shall bid adieu to this drama after eight episodes.
