Idea Cellular has now announced a cashback offer of up to Rs 150 for postpaid customers who subscribe for a membership to SonyLIV, during the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2018.

Under the ‘Nirvana’ scheme, postpaid users will also get a cashback of 100 percent of Rs 150, which is divided to Rs 50 cashback every month for the next three bills on successful payments made for SonyLIV premium subscription on the SonyLIV App. It can be availed by opting for the 'Pay by Mobile' and selecting an Idea postpaid mobile number as the payment mode.

This plan is only available for individual subscribers who have been activated with the Nirvana rental plan of Rs 499 and above, starting June 20. This offer will be available until July 15.

Sashi Shankar, Chief Marketing Officer, Idea Cellular said, “Idea Cellular understands the growing popularity of football in India, and we want to ensure that all our customers have non-stop access to the sport at their fingertips. Idea Nirvana users will now get the added benefits and more cashback while enjoying their favourite sport on the digital platform powered by Idea 4G.”

Recent reports suggested that the mega-merger deal of Idea Cellular and Vodafone India may not meet the expected June 30 timeline as the telecom department is looking to raise a fresh demand of around Rs 4,700 crore. The demand will be raised from Vodafone India before its merger with Idea Cellular.

In 2015, Vodafone had merged its four subsidiaries Vodafone East, Vodafone South, Vodafone Cellular and Vodafone Digilink with Vodafone Mobile Services, which is now called Vodafone India. DoT at that time has asked Vodafone to clear OTSC dues worth Rs 6,678 core but the company challenged it in court. Following Supreme Court order, Vodafone had paid only Rs 2,000 crore to get the deal cleared.
