Denmark Open: Sai Praneeth defeats five-time World Champion Lin Dan

Indian shuttler Sai Praneeth registered a stunning victory against two-times Olympic and five-time World Champion Lin Dan in the Denmark Open 2019 on Tuesday.

Praneeth defeated the Chinese shuttler 21-14, 21-17 in the first round of the tournament.

This was also the first time Sai managed to register a win against Lin Dan in their past three meetings. 

Earlier in the day, PV Sindhu and Parupalli Kashyap also outclassed their opponents in their first-round clash. Sindhu outplayed Gregoria Mariska Tunjung of Indonesia 22-20, 21-18 in the two-straight games in a match which lasted for 38 minutes.

On the other hand, Parupalli Kashyap outclassed Sitthikom Thammasin of Thailand 21-13, 21-12 to guarantee a spot in the second round of the tournament. This tie too lasted for 38 minutes.
