Skirt-chasing Tiger Woods is finding out the hard way that "I'm sorry" is really not good enough. Assailed by reports that he cheated with three women — New York party girl Rachel Uchitel, Vegas nightclub exec Kalika Moquin and cocktail waitress Jaimee Grubbs — Woods is revising a prenuptial agreement that would give his wife Elin Nordegren, an additional $55 million just to stay with him for two more years.

Woods is reportedly opening up his purse strings to buy himself the appearance of love. Reports say Woods offered his wife, a cool $5 million up front to keep her from walking and taking their two young kids with her.

If Nordegren, a former Swedish model, can put up with being Mrs Tiger Woods for at least seven years, she gets $80 million, a "lawyer familiar with the couple's negotiations" told Daily Beast reporter Gerald Posner. In exchange for the money, Nordegren will have to continue to be the smiling wife and show up at his side during golf tournaments and social events.

The media also reported that Woods might have paid his mistresses, 34-year-old Rachel Uchitel $1 million to buy her silence. She had called a press conference on Thursday during which she was likely to sing like a canary about her relationship with Woods. Her celebrity lawyer, Gloria Allred, said they pulled the plug on the press conference "due to unforeseen circumstances."

If everything sounds a bit mercenary, it really is. Woods is a lucrative brand, selling everything from cars, golf sticks to shaving razors. Corporate America says it's sticking with Tiger Woods, at least for now, but the scandal-stained golfer's sponsors might change their minds when they see his Q Score next year. Marketing Evaluations, a US firm that measures celebrities' appeal with consumers, or Q Score, forecast that Woods' numbers would hit the rough road with certain demographics. Some say Nike and Gatorade are likely to ditch him the fastest.

"I don't have a crystal ball, but I can surmise that his positive Q Score will take a big hit next year, while his negative Q Score will be much higher," Steve Levitt president of Marketing Evaluations told the New York Daily News.

Levitt said companies that sell products purchased by mothers for their children will be nervous about their association with Woods after Q Score surveys are completed next year.

Despite his fiery temper and cursing during golf tournaments, Woods' positive sports Q Score was 44 last year, second only to Michael Jordan. His negative Sports Q Score was 15.

After pulling out of a charity tournament, Woods issued a statement admitting what he called his "transgressions" and "sins" and apologised to his family. But this hasn’t cut much ice, and his golfing peer Jesper Parnevik stuck the knife in on Thursday and gave it a twist. The Swedish golfer who introduced Woods to his then-nanny, Nordegren, said Wood’s wife should use "a driver rather than a 3-iron” to go after him.

Nordegren reportedly used a golf club to smash Wood’s car back window to help him out of a car last week during a freak accident in the middle of the night. Parnevik, like a lot of others, is obviously not buying the cover-up story.
