Producer and stakeholder of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Karim Morani, has rubbished Sunanda Pushkar’s claims saying it was she who had approached him.

This revelation comes a day after Shah Rukh Khan and Jai Mehta, the owners of IPL team KKR, blasted Shashi Tharoor’s ‘close friend’ for claiming that Morani approached her to join the KKR management in the previous edition of the tournament.

“It was she who approached me saying that she wants to be a part of KKR and help in marketing and generating revenue for the brand. She had made tall claims that she could do a lot and knew people who could look to advertise. I found her proposal interesting. I told her to get in touch with SRK’s business manager,” Karim said.

“In our interaction, we have never discussed details on whether she could have a stake in the team. It was a casual meeting that anyone has with a marketing person who is pitching for an account. Who am I to offer a stake in KKR? SRK and others have that right,” Karim added.
