Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson expects striker Wayne Rooney to be sidelined for “a week or two” due to his hamstring injury.

Rooney suffered the injury while training ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash against Stoke City.

“It is only a small thing, but it could keep him out for a week or two,” The Guardian quoted Ferguson, as saying.

“Hamstrings are difficult, but it is not a serious one. He won’t be available for next week and he could be out for a little longer,” he added.
