Pakistan captain Salman Butt may have some concerns about Mohammed Yousuf’s match fitness and batting form, but Faisal Khan, who has been playing in domestic tournaments along with Yousuf believes that the former captain is in excellent touch.

“He’s (Yousuf) really excited about playing for Pakistan again. He’s confident that he can do well because he has a lot of experience of English conditions and because he's in good touch and good form with the bat,” Khan told Cricistan.com.

Khan said that despite being away from cricket for months, Yousuf has been keeping himself fit by playing in domestic tournaments.

“Yousuf had been practising hard and he's a regular at the gym. In fact we often train together at the NCA gym and over the last few years Yousuf bhai has become very conscious about his fitness. He's not short of match practise,” the Lahore born opening batsman said.

Khan also pointed out that the former captain is an excellent backfoot player, which would help in the testing English conditions.

“Yousuf is a good backfoot player and that will help him in English conditions. I really hope he does well for the sake of Pakistan cricket,” he said.
