Umar Akmal booked for violating Pakistan wedding ceremony act

Karachi: Pakistani all-rounder Umar Akmal has reportedly been booked along with his family by the Lahore police for violating a wedding ceremony act of the country's Punjab province.

According to The Dawn, the police said they raided a farmhouse in Lahore late a night where they found Akmal and his family violating the province's one-dish law and holding the cricketer's Rasm-i-Hina after 10pm.

A police official said that the ceremony was going on after 10pm despite the government's ban and two dishes were being served to the guests at the time of raid.

The official also said that police would register a case after the official complaint by the City District Government Lahore (CDGL) staff.
