Pune FC dictate terms to Prayag United

Pune FC extended their unbeaten streak to seven matches when they defeated Prayag United 3-1 at Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Balewadi on Saturday. James Moga scored the opening goal in the eighth minute before Othallo Tabia (17th) put the home side 2-0 up at half-time. Striker CK Vineeth (51st) pulled one back for the visitors before Moga (77th) joined in the merry again.
With this win, Pune FC rise to third in the table with 23 points while Prayag stay at fifth place with 17 points.

Moga scored with a close shot after tackling Anupam Sarkar and Gouramangi Moirangthem. Later, ex-Pune FC custodian Subrata Pal was helpless in the goal as Chika Wali found Othallo Tabia at the end of a cross to send the visitors on the back foot. Prayag United put in their best efforts to come back in the game but Pune FC ’keeper Abhra Modal kept their strikers at bay.

Though Vineeth eased some pressure when he pulled one back for Prayag in the 51st minute, Moga made sure Pune FC enjoyed a big lead by deflecting Douhou Pierre’s freekick in the 77th minute.
