Glen Maxwell brands two months post Phillip Hughes' death 'worst period of life'

Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has branded the end of 2014 as the worst months of his life in light of the pain he endured following Phillip Hughes' passing and he also lost his place in the Test side.

Maxwell claimed that the heartache he endured after Hughes' passing was made more difficult because he shares a house with the late batsman's best friend, Aaron Finch.

Maxwell also revealed the torment of the past two months, which started with him losing his place in the Test side. He said that it's been a weird season, claiming that to go in and out of random formats, and in and out of teams, it's been pretty tough after what's happened with Hughes, News.com.au reported.

The all-rounder said that one combines that with everything else that was going on, it was probably the worst two months of his life right there, and Hughes' passing was the icing on the cake.

Maxwell, who shares a house in Melbourne with fellow cricketer Finch, said that it was a hard place to live after Hughes died in November. He claimed that living with Finch probably didn't help either.

He added that Finch was obviously best mates with Hughes and they went through different stages of grieving at different times.

Maxwell admitted that Hughes continues to be in his thoughts. He said that he had a dream about the late batsman the other night and woke up really emotional.
