The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have declared their provisional 30-man squad for the upcoming 2015 Cricket World Cup, while maintaining Alastair Cook as the team captain.

The ECB omitted Jonathan Trott, who hasn't featured in the national set-up since leaving the Ashes tour of Australia in December 2013, the BBC reported.

Cook's captaincy has come under severe censure after incurring 15 defeats in their previous 22 completed one-dayers against Test playing nations.

England currently trails the seven-match series 2-1 against Sri Lanka.

England's 30-man squad for the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, which is scheduled to be held in Australia and New Zealand in February and March, is as follows:

Alastair Cook (Essex) (Capt), Moeen Ali (Worcestershire), James Anderson (Lancashire), Jonathan Bairstow (Yorkshire), Gary Ballance (Yorkshire), Ian Bell (Warwickshire), Ravi Bopara (Essex), Tim Bresnan (Yorkshire), Stuart Broad (Nottinghamshire), Jack Brooks (Yorkshire), Jos Buttler (Lancashire), Steven Finn (Middlesex), Harry Gurney (Nottinghamshire), Alex Hales.
