Hitting back at the BJP over the Ottavio Quattrochhi issue, the Congress on Friday wondered why the saffron party failed to file an appeal when the Delhi High Court had quashed charges against the Bofors accused in 2004 when it was in power.
"I want to ask the top leadership of BJP and present spokesperson who was then Law Minister (Arun Jaitley) that what (had) prevented them to file an SLP (Special Leave Petition) in the court," Congress spokesman Ashwani Kumar told reporters.
Kumar said that having failed to file the petition, the BJP has no moral authority to raise the issue at the time of elections.
