3 jailed for hurling footwear at SC judges

The Supreme Court on Friday convicted three female members of Vasai’s Boss School of Music for hurling footwear at a bench of Justices Arijit Pasayat and Asok Kumar Ganguly. Their sentences will be decided by a larger bench on Monday.

Leila David, Annet Kotian and Kavita Murali shouted slogans against the court and one of them hurled her footwear at Justice Pasayat.

The school members were demanding punishment and jail for the judges and used abusive language against them. The court directed the registrar to take them into custody.
Later, the court sent them to judicial custody till Monday.

The apex court’s order convicting the school members came within minutes of the attack.

The school founder faces charges of forcing girls into prostitution.
