Suspecting her infidelity, man kills wife in front of children

Suspecting his wife of infidelity, a man allegedly stabbed her to death in the wee hours of Thursday, in front of his children and sister-in-law at the Jodhpur House here.

Usha (35) was allegedly stabbed by her husband Raj Kumar in a fit of rage after a fight with her in their room in Jodhpur House's servants quarters at around 1 30 am, a senior police official said.

Their three children and a sister-in-law were witness to the incident when Kumar allegedly stabbed his wife repeatedly,
the official said.

Investigators said Kumar suspected Usha of having an affair and they used to quarrel about it regularly.

The elder daughter, who is 12 years old, and the sister-in-law tried to intervene and prevent Kumar from stabbing Usha but did not succeed, they said. Usha died on the spot while Kumar managed to escape.

Efforts are on to trace Kumar and we will catch him soon," deputy commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Shanker Dass said.

Kumar works as a safai karmachari in the Children's Park near India Gate while Usha was working as a domestic help.
