Capital feels November chill

NEW DELHI: Delhiites are feeling the November chill, though the Indian Meteorological Department said on Saturday the winter is yet to set in.

“The maximum temperature recorded yesterday (Friday) was 30.6 degrees Celsius and minimum was 14.0 degrees Celsius. The chill started setting in from October and will continue for at least a month,” a met official said.

“Today (Saturday) the sky will mainly remain clear. There will be mist and shallow fog in the morning,” the official said.

Delhi and its surrounding regions are experiencing a dry spell and there is no western disturbance which can affect it right now. Chilliness in the morning is likely to increase with the passing of the month, the official added.

At the IGI Airport, the visibility has regularly been touching 500-600 metres in the early hours of the morning. Visibility had started falling from Oct 23 and since then, has remained low in the morning hours. On Oct 27, it had come down to 350 metres.
