E-mail threat to President

PUNE: Confirming that a threat mail against President Pratibha Patil, on a visit to Pune, has been received by Rashtrapati Bhavan, officials said central intelligence agencies were probing the case.
    
So far no group has claimed responsibility for the e-mail addressed to the President.
    
Officials said here that central intelligence agencies and Delhi Police have been provided with the details and they were working on the leads.
    
While the e-mail also mentions Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the threat has been issued only against the President.
    
The mail reportedly mentions words such as "doomed" and "damned country", sources added.
    
The mail sent by unidentified persons claims that the attackers may come in "any disguise", the official said.
    
Patil arrived here on Friday on a four-day visit and is scheduled to inaugurate the Commonwealth Youth Games on Sunday evening.
    
Her security has been tightened following the threat, the official said.
