Delhi Police website also has rewards of Rs10 and Rs20 for two other criminals

NEW DELHI: Believe it or not, catching Delhi Police’s 10 ‘most wanted criminals’ will not fetch you any cash reward while nabbing two others will make you richer by Rs10 and Rs20.

The city police has declared ‘Rs0’ as cash reward for catching 10 out of the over 80 persons described as ‘most wanted’ on the website of zonal integrated police network (ZIPNET).

However, Delhi Police declared a reward of Rs50,000 on seven criminals, Rs25,000 on one, Rs20,000 on seven, Rs15,000 on three, Rs1,0000 on 10 and Rs5,000 on 33.
Eight out of the 10 men in the ‘Rs0 reward category’ are wrestlers and wanted in one each case of theft, kidnapping and causing hurt registered at the Daryaganj police station last year.

Nabbing Rajesh Giri of Uttarakhand, who was allegedly involved in a theft, will enhance your coffers by Rs10 while catching one Rinku will fetch you Rs20, according to the ZIPNET website which provides real-time information about criminals among Delhi, UP, Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana.

In a goof-up, ages of a number of criminals were shown on the website as ‘2008’. “We will check how this happened and will correct it,” a senior police official said. Joint commissioner (crime) Alok Kumar Verma, the Delhi Coordinator of the ZIPNET, could not be reached for comments.

Three students, including a 17-year-old boy, who allegedly kidnapped three teenaged girls in three separate cases figure in the list of Delhi Police’s ‘most wanted’ list and carry a reward of Rs5,000 each.
