Gunmen loot cash from BOI branch

SIMDEGA (Jharkhand): Unidentified gunmen looted more than Rs 3 lakh from the Bank of India branch at Lathragarh village in the district on Monday but were forced to throw the money after being chased by police.
 
Police said six persons entered the Bank of India branch office and beat up an employee with rifle-butts and threatened other staff before fleeing with the cash.
 
Policemen then chased them following which the looters abandoned their motorbikes and threw the money bag near Lasia before escaping in the forests.
