MUMBAI: Missing French cyclist Jean Baptiste Talleu's mother appealed to find her son who has been missing since December 5, 2007 and announced a cash prize of Rs two lakh for the informer.

Marie Claire Talleu and her second son Vincent are in Mumbai in search of Jean, who has been missing since for the last over five months from Mumbai.

"He just cannot vanish in Mumbai. There must be some clue about his belongings and bicycle," Marie Claire said.

"We are here to gather information from the people, which can help finding some clue about Jean. Cash prize of Rs two lakh has also been announced," she added.

Talking about Jean's last contact with his family, Vincent said, "He spoke to us on December 2 when he was in Dubai. He was going to Mumbai but did not have definite plan."

"On his birthday on December 11, we were expecting his call. Also on the Christmas day, our parents were waiting for his reply to Christmas card, which they sent through email. Later we realised that he did not open the card", Vincent said.

After waiting for a month Jean's family lodged a complaint with French Consulate. They also contacted Mumbai police in March.

He was last found in Mumbai's suburban Goregaon (E) where he withdrawn Rs 10,000 from the ATM on December 5. He went missing after that.

"It was very hard to visit the place at Goregaon. But I'am going there again with the hope to get some information," brother said. Jean's family is surprised that they could not even find his bicycle and bags in the surrounding area.

Jean, from France was on a bicycle tour to explore the World. He started his journey from Germany and then came to Asia.

After India, he had planned to go to China and then Latin America. He was working with a web designing company earlier and left the job for the tour.

Jean was also very religious and would never miss attending church mass. His family also tried to search Churches and religious places. They will also visit Osho ashram at Pune, his brother said.
