BERLIN: Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone has admitted he still dreams of a showdown between seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher and current championship leader Lewis Hamilton.

"We can thank God for having given us Hamilton this year, but imagine the duel between Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher, that would be fantastic, that's somthing I have to work for," Ecclestone said.

Schumacher, who retired last year after winning 91 races during his 15-year career, has ruled out a return to the track on several occasions.

"I spoke with Michael about his new life during the German Grand Prix and he finds it wonderful," Ecclestone said, adding that he would be "very happy if Michael were to make a Formula One comeback".
