THANE: More than 50 activists of the Bharatiya Vidyarti Sena stormed into the office of Rajesh Study Centre on Wednesday morning and blackened the face of its 67-year-old owner and professor Ramchandra Nemade.

Earlier on Tuesday, an SSC  student filed a police complaint against Nemade at the Ramnagar police station. In his statement to police, the student Rajesh Kadam (name changed) has said that nearly two to three months ago, when he was studying in Rajesh Study Centre, Nemade would ask him to wait after class “to clear his doubts” and would then speak to him about sex, masturbation and intercourse at several occasions. An offence was registered against Nemade under Section 294 of IPC on Tuesday night.

When Kadam could not concentrate on his studies and his academic performance began to drop, his parents took him to a psychiatrist. “Kadam did not want to go the class any more and did not perform well in his exams,” said Dr Supriya G, the psychiatrist.

“Earlier too, Nemade has sexually harassed many students who have complained to us. Even after 24 hours of filing the police complaint against Nemade, there was no action,” said Rajesh Rupavat, Thane BVS chief, on why they had to take action against Nemade.

Stating that charges against him were false, Nemade said “It’s the act of some rivals who are jealous of the success of my classes.” He was presented in the court on Wednesday when police asked for a majesterial custody, but he was released on bail.
