KOLKATA: Four coaches of a local passenger train derailed at Howrah railway station, disrupting rail services.
Bardhaman local train derailed while entering platform number eight at midnight, blocking both north and south end of the Tikiapara deport, Eastern Railway officials said, adding that no one was injured in the accident.
As a result of the accident, a number of long-distance trains were delayed on Thursday morning. The trains delayed include Black Diamond Express, Ganadevata Express, Howrah-Ranchi Shatabdi Express and Shantiniketan Express, said the officials.
The derailed coaches were removed and work was on to repair the damaged track, the officials said.
