Mouli Ganguly, actor
My best friend: Samata. I met her when I came to Mumbai about six years ago. We have different personalities but we simply can’t do without each other.
One thing no one knows about me: People have this misconception that I don’t lose my temper because I am soft-spoken. But I can get very angry if pushed in a corner.
If I weren’t an actor: I would be associated with commercial art or advertising.
My dream role: Shabana Azmi’s character in ‘Arth’ and Konkona Sen’s in ‘Yun Hota Toh Kya Hota’.
What turns you on: Shopping. It’s most de-stressing. If my bank balance is comfortable then I shop anywhere and everywhere — from branded stuff to fashion street maal.
My recent buy: I bought a massage-kit. I pamper myself with it when I come home after a hard day’s work.
What I love and hate about my profession: I love the impromptu enactment of a scene. I find it challenging. What I hate are the erratic timings. I wish we worked for eight hours instead of 12 hours since that leaves us with little time for our personal lives.
My food fetish: Anything vegetarian cooked in less oil. My all-time favourite is dal-chawal.
I’d be lost without: My cell phone
Last time I was on a high: When I bought a house in Mumbai with my hard-earned money.
Mouli is currently seen in ‘Resham Dankh’(Star One). As told to Shameem Khan
