KAISERSLAUTERN: Spain fielded a virtual second string team to beat Saudi Arabia 1-0 with a goal from central defender Juanito at the World Cup on Friday.

Spain, who were already qualified for the second round after winning their first two Group H matches, took the lead in the 36th minute when Juanito scored with a powerful header from a Jose Antonio Reyes free kick.

In the last 16, Spain will play the runners-up in Group G -- Switzerland, South Korea or France -- in Hanover on Tuesday.

Saudi Arabia were eliminated after finishing with one point from their three group games.
