STRASBOURG (France): Former United Nations secretary-general Boutros Boutros-Ghali has been hospitalised in France with an undisclosed ailment, the Press Club of the city of Strasbourg said on Friday.
The 83-year-old Boutros-Ghali had presented the French edition of his book Sixty Years of the Israeli-Arab Conflict, when he fell ill and was taken to hospital for tests.
No details were provided about the nature of illness.
Boutros-Ghali became the UN's sixth secretary-general in 1992 and served a five-year term. Before that, he had been Egypt's foreign minister and minister of state for foreign affairs.
